Haiku time? Haiku time!
Train tracks disappear,
Cologne whispers through my lens—
City veins exposed.
What is a haiku you may ask?
A haiku is a short form of Japanese poetry traditionally composed of three lines with a 5-7-5 syllable structure. It often captures a brief moment in time, focusing on nature, the seasons, or a subtle emotional experience. Rather than telling a full story, a haiku aims to evoke a mood or image with clarity and simplicity. Classical Japanese haiku usually include a seasonal reference and a pause or shift in perspective, creating a contrast or unexpected insight. In English and modern poetry, haiku are sometimes less strict about syllable count but still strive to express a fleeting moment with minimal words and maximum resonance.
