yet the space resounds like prayer —

läuft der Tag mit Tüten still –
Glaube geht vorbei
Beneath the old tower,
the day walks by, bags in hand —
faith quietly passes.
Fassaden wie Spiel,
bunte Häuser, graue Kirch‘ –
und Touristenlärm.
Façades like a game,
colorful homes, a grey church —
and tourist noise swells.
Das Gebäude ruht,
trägt einstiege Bewegung –
Stille in Gestalt.
The building rests still,
bearing echoes of movement —
silence made solid.
Tür aus altem Holz,
Moos in den Stufenfugen –
keiner klopft mehr an.
Door of weathered wood,
moss between the crumbling steps —
no one knocks today.
